Now in the final stages of a research project investigating the challenges and opportunities that Manufacturing Execution Systems(MES) present in the manufacturing of medical devices, the ISBP group of University College Cork students were given a fantastic opportunity. Yesterday, members of the group visited Boston Scientific Cork to see an MES in action. Boston Scientific is one of the world’s leading Medical Device manufacturers with over 23,000 employees around the globe. Camstar Medical Device Suite is the MES platform of choice for Boston Scientific. The company has been recognized for its impressive commitment to global MES and paperless manufacturing by winning Camstar’s Manufacturing Star Award.
Bausch & Lomb, Johnson & Johnson, Stryker Neurovascular, Baxter Healthcare and Zimmer Biomet are just some of the companies that are helping the students in their research. We look forward to viewing the outcome of the students work.
